what are the humasks?

The Humasks are the second NFT collection by the digital artist Semiotac, and form a sequel to the Human Crusts Collection (2021).

In this series of surreal portraits Semiotac considers the notion that every human wears a mask.

The Humasks Collection live on the Tezos blockchain and are available for purchase on objkt.com

This collection was released in November 2022.

This page presents a curated selection of Humasks.

THE STORY

the inspiration

The Humasks are inspired by the centuries-old figurative art tradition, focussing on surreal portraiture as a visual investigation of the human condition in its elaborate diversity.

Also, the Humasks are just nice to look at.

the pricing

There are Humasks to suit every pocket.

Some Humasks are minted as 1/1s: this means that there is only one version available, thus increasing the value and the price.

Other Humasks are minted in multiple: this means that there is more than one version available, thus decreasing the rarity and value, but also decreasing the price.

the value

The value is in the art.

The Humasks are pieces of fine art. They are each individually created as non-generative and entirely unique works of art. That is to say... the works are not generated algorithmically and every one of them is created by an actual human.

the process

Every Humask is individually crafted and created by the artist. Semiotac combines traditional image making techniques with digital software, creating works through collage, stenciling, photography, and digital painting. The majority of the work on each Humask is done by hand using the software Procreate, where Semiotac paints and draws each Humask with care.

the supply

10 Humasks are minted as 1/1s = 1 of each is available.

10 Humasks are minted as 1/10s = 10 of each is available.

10 Humasks are minted as 1/25s = 25 of each is available.

10 Humasks are minted as 1/50s = 50 of each is available.

10 Humasks are minted as 1/100s = 100 of each is available.

Therefore, there are total of 1860 Humasks, in editions of 1, 10, 25, 50 and 100.

the blockchain

The Humasks live on the Tezos blockchain.

Why?

Because the Tezos network's annual energy consumption is estimated at 0.001 Terawatt hours (TWh). Simply, Tezos is much kinder to our beautiful planet than many other blockchains. Semiotac believes that art should inspire and do good, not harm. Therefore Semiotac endeavours to mint clean NFTs.
